Australia has over 35 types of cockroaches all varying in size, markings and colour. Adult cockroaches can fly however prefer walking or rapid running, the young do not yet have wings and only walk or run. The German cockroach is the most common house infesting pest and the number one pest in Sydney.
Cockroaches are virtually invincible, they are able to survive without food for month and live without their heads for over a week, which also makes it hard to ascertain if you have an infestation.
Cockroaches generally prefer warm temperatures and can be found all around the house. A nocturnal pest that requires food, water and places to hide and mate. Cockroaches have a wide diet and will eat almost anything from food, leather, to glue, soap, paint, fabric, faeces or even human hair and fingernails which is why you find them in all rooms of the office, home and outdoors.
